This image, offered by Customaps, was captured by NASA's Landsat 8 satellite on December 30, 2014, while flying over the Islamic Replublic of Iran. Roughly 80 by 45 miles (130 by 70 km), Dasht-e Lut is a large salt desert in southeastern Iran. The desert fills a low basin that stretches southward from the Khorasan province into the Kerman province. Although the entire salt desert has just one name, it has more than one appearance.
The strong diagonal lines result from wind erosion that has carved deep troughs and sharp ridges into the landscape. These wind-sculpted ridges are known as yardangs, and geologic research has determined that Iran contains some of the world’s largest yardangs. The whole area consists of sand, and it contains some of the world’s tallest dunes, some reaching a height of 1,000 feet (300 m). Golden dunes make swirling pattenrs across the image, becoming less tightly packed in the bottom of the scene.

- PEEL & STICK WALL MURALS:
Our wall murals are made of a self-adhesive thin polyester fabric material. They have the look and feel of a very thin canvas and do not require use of wallpaper paste or any extra glue for hanging. Our map murals can easily be removed, leaving no trace or sticky residue on 99% of any surface! They can be moved and re-applied over and over again, as the adhesive does not weaken or strengthen over time. Stick your map for a day – or stick it for a decade – still removes with no issues. Our material is green, nontoxic and safe. We protect them with a transparent laminate, which allows you to clean your map with a damp sponge.
Note: it is recommended to apply your wall mural on LOW or NO VOC paints.
