Frequently Asked Questions

Customaps is an online print shop that allows you to create a map of ANYWHERE in the world, in a countless number of styles. Print your map on poster or make it a wall mural. Want to print it yourself? Purchase a digital map instead!

Customaps is located in the land of hockey, beavers and maple syrup... More specifically in Montreal, Canada.

We don't have a phone line. Customaps sells maps all over the world, across many time zones, so we handle every request in writing. It is also safer for your map: every detail of your design request (area, size, colors, text and changes) stays on record, so nothing gets lost or misunderstood. Write to us at hello@customaps.com or through our contact page, and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

All our maps are proudly designed in Canada. We have partnered with print shops in Montreal, the US and Europe to print and deliver our maps worldwide.

All our maps data is pulled from OpenStreetMap. We can't thank enough the good people at OpenStreetMap for their amazing work and for making map data open source and available to everyone.

Since our maps data comes from OpenStreetMap, we unfortunately don't have control over it. WYSIWYG :)

Unless Themiddleofnowhere is located in outer space, then yes, it's possible! Our map builder allows you to generate a map of ANYWHERE (in the World that is).

We offer three families of products: digital map files that you download; printed posters, from small posters to large formats (48" x 36" and 72" x 48") with an optional laminated or dry erase finish; and wallpapers: prepasted wallpaper, Type II commercial vinyl, peel & stick fabric and vinyl, and dry erase vinyl.

Yes, in the live preview: your map is printed exactly as it appears there, and our team checks every map before printing. For wallpapers and large posters (48" x 36" and larger), we also send you a proof for approval, with free revisions.

Yes, we offer lamination options. for any specific request please contact us and we'll do our best to accommodate your request!

Looking for a laminated map you can write on? See our custom dry erase wall maps.

Yes we do. Just contact us and we'll do our best to accommodate your request!

All our wallpapers are made per order and custom sized to your requested dimensions. Since they are printed on panels, we can go as large as you need!

Absolutely not! All options we offer - peel & stick and traditional - are easy to install. You can learn more about our peel & stick wallpaper here and our pre pasted wallpaper here.

We offer several sizes to choose from. Small formats (up to 24" x 36" or 61 x 91 cm) are delivered at 300 dpi; larger maps at a lower resolution, usually around 200 to 250 dpi, which keeps them sharp when printed large while keeping the file size manageable. You can learn more about our digital maps here. For custom sized maps, please contact us.

Your digital map is usually delivered by email in less than two hours, and always before the end of the business day. Please check your spam mailbox if you have not received it. Please do not hesitate to contact us.
